This is our first Words & Wine affair and I am proud to share my words with not only the members of our Palisade Writers Group, but also the world.  Our writers group consist of the novice, to published authors. We meet the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month at our local library from 3:00-5:00.  I organized and created the Palisade Writers Group in April 2012.  At our first meeting, I believe there were three of us.  Two years later, we have a solid 10-12 regulars and 3-5 who visit periodically. One of our writers is from Finland.  She lives six months overseas and six months here in Palisade.  She provides the group with her vibrancy and strong critiquing character.  Our writers group consists of people with diverse backgrounds. From ex- English teachers and a Former ESL Instructor at Amideast/Oman & Freelance writer to a wonderful, older woman originally from Gloucester County, PA, who shares with us her stories of growing up in the 1920's. Another of our writers resides in a Yurt, here in Mesa County Colorado. She brings us wonderful true stories of  not only her love of horses but her adventures with them. Another of our members is also an avid horse and animal lover. She brings us comical, fun stories. She also has created Mary's Cranky Feeder.  

MARY'S CRANKY FEEDER  is a top loading metal feed bin with spikes on auger to loosen frozen sweet feed in winter, clumpy, sticky feed in winter. Funnel down to a nose with two flat doors. Open top flap, nose fills, close that, place feed bucket under nose, open bottom and measured a gallon of grain falls out. Her company  Lineshack Trading has been featured in The Denver Post, Hi Plains Journal, aired on KJCT TV, Grand Junction, Colorado and The Fence Post newspaper.

She also produces wonderful grooming aids for dogs and horses. All naturally made in Palisade, Colorado. They can even be used on people, but they are not yet approved by FDA

Friday is almost here... are you making plans to come to....

the Palisade Colorado Writers group? I'm happy to update that we held our first writers group on Friday, May 11th, and our next one is quickly approaching.
We will be meeting at Palisade Library on 3rd Street  on Friday, May 25th at 3:00 p.m. We have a great group and are open to new members.
After Friday, May 25th, we will be meeting the 2nd and 4th Friday's of the month, the time will be the same.

Did you have a great Monday? I had the day off from the winery but I spent a portion of the morning at he dentist. I have neglected my dental health for far too long; 7 years since I had a check-up!
I only had 5 cavities! The next several weeks I will be sitting in a dental chair on my day's off.
Now that I'm settled into my new area in life, I will be sure to see my dentist every six months after these cavities and cleaning is taken care of.
To think that in my past life, I was a dental assistant! Yep, you heard me right, my junior and senior years of high school, I spent in vocational school learning how to be a dental assistant. I graduated with top scores and worked in the dental field until after the birth of my daughter. My husband at that time wanted me to be a stay-home mom and my dental profession ended.
After my dental appointment, I visited my dear friend Jane. She's had some medical problems since winter time and was thrilled to see that she's feeling better, not 100% yet, but she will not let this minor set back defeat her! We had a great visit, enjoying lunch outside at a wonderful restaurant called Spoons.
My hope is that everyone had an exceptional Monday and are experiencing an even better Tuesday!
