Walk for the disease I live with daily~ Multiple Sclerosis

I have MS. There, I said it. Not that I'm allowing this dreadful disease I've been living with for the past nineteen years ruin my life. I was clinically diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in May of 1993, but I was displaying symptoms as early as 1986 after the birth of my son.
Living with any disease will change you, your friends and loved ones. MS is no exception. Since being diagnosed, many new chapters in my book of life have been written.
This disease has altered my physical capabilities tremendously within the past five years.
Each spring, MS chapters throughout the U.S. organize MS Walks to raise money for research for this life changing disease. In the Grand Junction CO area our walk will be held on May 5th. I am currently working on gathering friends to walk with me this May. Within the next week, I will update my blog with a link, where you may donate for my team.
Until I get my link up, please feel free to click on the link below to view information about my area's MS Society Chapter.

Windy Monday!

I woke this morning to branches blowing, treetops bending sideways and howling of the wind. It was said there would be wind today, boy was that an understatement. I'm beginning to see the clouds being carried in, bringing us a slight cool down. It's as though I'm on a page in Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day!

Whatever your last Monday in March takes you, I hope you enjoy!

Honey & Allergies

Happy Sunday!
The tulips, crocus and daffodils have poked their heads up to welcome spring. The globe willows, and cherry blossoms are showing their beauty. This leaves the Grand Valley sneezing and itchy, watery eyes.  Have you tried swallowing a teaspoon of local raw honey to help? If not, I would give it a try. In my 'past life,' when I lived back east, I owned an herb and vitamin shop. Every couple of weeks, my local honey keeper would bring me raw honey to sell. The theory is the raw honey from your local area will help build up your resistance to the local allergens. Which makes sense since the bee's from your area are feeding on the local flowers.  If you haven't tried it in the past, maybe this is the time to experiment. I would always rather do natural for my body then over the counter drugs anytime!

Enjoy your Sunday. The weather here on the Western Slope of Colorado is going to be beautiful with a possible high temperature of 80!

the Writer magazine

Hope everyone is having a great Saturday. I received my newest copy of the Writer magazine this week and I'm taking the time and reading it this morning. If you do not already subscribe to this magazine, I recommend you do. I always find great articles and tips.

I'm off to read then wash windows, inside and out. It's going to be another beautiful day here on the Western Slope of Colorado.
Enjoy whatever you do today!

Happy Friday! My husband and I watched a couple movies tonight. First a Horror movie, The Hills have Eyes then we had to regain our composure and watch a comedy!

Hope everyone has a great Friday!

Happy Spring! What is the first thought that comes to mind when you hear the word Spring?

For me, it's new beginnings, rebirth of all the beautiful, fragrant flowers that are beginning to peep their colors out of the ground.

Whatever life brings you on this first day of Spring 2012 make the best of it.

Happy St. Patricks Day! I hope everyone is enjoying their day. I began my day writing, then by ten o'clock I went outside to complete a job I began yesterday. I've been fighting with Japanese Rose bushes for two years now. They had completely overtaken a big section of my yard next to my patio when my husband and I first moved in. Two years ago we began the task of cutting them back, which filled three dumpsters! Then last year we pruned them even more, leaving a narrow strip. Now I have finally finished digging out all the roots, and believe me, there were plenty and large. The soil they resided in for many years is wonderful. There was close to forty years of decaying leaves on the floor surrounding the bushes. The soil is wonderful. So wonderful that I've decided to grow my tomato plants this season in that area. This will also leave me room in my garden for more vegetables. The weather has been wonderful in the mid 70's. For March 17th, I'm not complaining.
I have also completed my book I've called How to Recogonize and Overcome Victim Mentality. I have uploaded it to Kindle and it should be up for sale in twelve hours.

I've endured a very busy, productive weekend. I believe it will be a pleasure to go to work tomorrow.
